WEBNov 16, 2011 — Whatever you are replacing do not use pressure treated home depot wood. It is of poor quality and will warp and twist like crazy once it is in the boat. Also, there is no reason to fiberglass it into the hull. The best thing you can do is rebuild the area in the same manner that it was originally constructed.

I use a 1/4" thick foam roller for this. Just don't roll back over the edge in the other direction to avoid lifting the edge.

I printed the drawings out to scale and sat down to figure out whether I could get the bottom panel and lower strakes onto 5 sheets of ply, rather than 6.

WEBDec 12, 2015 — HDPE can not be glued with anything but a few acrylic resins like 3M DP-8005. It can however be welded. The only reason that rotomolded boats work structurally is that they are generally small and have few, small, flat surfaces and lots of compound curved surfaces. Flat surfaces are too flexible in HDPE.
