IIRC things like window trim are held in place using plastic clips and that black trim strip is on double sided tape. Headlights have just a couple screws in each and so do tail lights, although you'd have to remove some interior panels to get to them.

I figured atleast half a gallon for the main color and the price of the AE made since to just get a gallon since i have virtually no experience painting a car, but painted just about everything else and i understand the general ideas.

How well has anybodys alumablast or parts store paint held up? If i paint it I'm leaning toward alumablast. I'd really like to clean up the hardware too but i just can't justify new bolts.

WEBMar 17, 2011 · I have to disagree. I used Duplicolor satin black, with graphite for the lips. The plastic Eagle center caps were painted with the same graphite and the engraved eagle was then painted with Testors gloss black enamel. Once dry, everything was coated with 3 coats of Duplicolor clear.

WEBMar 20, 2023 · Top trim is held by the 4 blue clips. Open the liftgate and pry off the trim, working from the top down. Once the trim is off, the 4 clips are easy to remove. All stainless steel, no rust here! The J-hook on the blue plastic clip engages the J-hook on the metal clip. If you pry from the OUTSIDE, you'll break the plastic J-hooks for sure.
