Smoke from more than 100 wildfires blazing in Canada is expected to spread to impact air quality in more U.S. state.

A ridge of high pressure allowed smoke to filter into parts of the Northeast almost all week. While the smoke never made it's way to the surface, it did move into the mid-levels allowing for a hue across some Northeast locations.

Smoke from Canadian wildfires started making air quality worse in the eastern U.S. on Wednesday as several Midwestern states battled conditions deemed unhealthy by the federal government.The fires have forced thousands of Canadians to flee their homes and sent smoke as far as Europe.
