Charlie Reiter, a former Palm Desert High School star who played in The American Express when he was 18 and still in high school, was the medalist Monday in a qualifying tournament for the Farmers Insurance Open, the PGA Tour event at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego this week.

The Farmers Insurance Open is the only event on the PGA Tour that starts on Wednesday! yeah, not the usual Thursday, but Wednesday, which means it has a Saturday finish. This change in the schedule was implemented in 2022,

Farmers Insurance Open format is one of three multi-course events in California, with the PGA Tour event played at Torrey Pines Golf Courses in La Jolla, California, near San Diego. The 2025 Farmers Insurance Open field is 156 players.
