Every year, around this time, the world’s most decorated and well-known actors, filmmakers, screenwriters and cinema world descend upon the resort town of Cannes in the southeastern French Riviera to attend one of the industry’s most prestigious annual events.

The Cannes Film Festival kicked off its 78th edition with the Opening Ceremony and the world premiere of Amélie Bonnin’s debut feature, Partir Un Jour (Leave One Day), led by Juliette Armanet, Bastien Bouillon, and François Rollin.

Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen arrives for the opening ceremony at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where he’ll receive the honorary Palme d’Or. Cannes competition jury president Juliette Binoche leads Alba Rohrwacher and Jeremy Strong onto the red carpet for the opening ceremony and “Partir Un Jour (Leave One Day)” screening.
