Spain's Jon Rahm wants to play three European golf events before the end of the year to maintain his Ryder Cup eligibility, but said Wednesday he won't pay fines levied by the DP World Tour over his LIV golf participation.

Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka, two of the biggest stars on the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League, plan to play on the DP World Tour this fall. Both players mentioned in press conferences Wednesday at LIV Golf Chicago they’d be committing to the European circuit events, and on Rahm’s side, that includes a Ryder Cup plan.

Jon Rahm is trying to stay eligible for the Ryder Cup next fall. Whether the DP World Tour will let him do so, however, remains to be seen. The LIV Golf member and former top-ranked golfer in the world has signed up for three DP World Tour events this fall,
