John Mello was charged in Christina Parcell's death after Zachary Hughes claimed in open court that he was offered money for the murder.

John Mello was arrested Wednesday following testimony that he twice asked his friend to kill his ex-wife, suspected of sexually abusing their child

She was found in her sister's Greenville home with scattered rose petals. She sustained 35 knife wounds, including a slashed jugular vein and carotid artery.

John Mello, who shared a child with victim, Christina Parcell, was arrested. Mello was arrested as a result of Zachary Hughes' testimony.

He was also guilty of second-degree harassment and second-degree conspiracy to commit harassment, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and burglary. Hughes was found not guilty of first-degree harassment and conspiracy to commit harassment.
