Rogers-Slotkin race still too close to call, but Barrett, James win heavily contested House seats
The 8th District, in the Tri-Cities region, was Michigan's other open House race with the pending retirement of sixth-term Democratic Rep. Dan Kildee. State Sen. Kristen McDonald Rivet, a Democrat, defeated Republican Paul Junge to keep the seat in Democratic hands. She was leading by 6 points with 92% of the estimated votes reported.
