Ohio extends its annual sales tax holiday to ten days, supporting families with tax-free back-to-school shopping.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Ohio’s annual sales tax holiday is expanded to a full two weeks this year and runs through Aug. 14. The annual event allows families to buy school supplies, clothes and almost all tangible personal property priced at $500 or less to be purchased without paying 5.75 percent state sales tax, plus the local sales tax.

According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, nearly all items are eligible, with some exceptions including services, vehicles, boats, liquor, tobacco, vapor products and items containing marijuana. Click here for a full list of eligible and ineligible items.
