Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has made three trades in six days, adding depth at cornerback and edge rusher with the acquisitions of cornerback Jaire Alexander, slot cornerback Michael Carter II and pass rusher Jaelan Phillips. Roseman could make a few more moves before the NFL trade deadline at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
On a last-chance play in a one-score game, Phillips split a sack to seal victory. Fangio fielded nickel safety Justin Bethel in the obvious passing down — fourth-and-12 at the Chargers’ 33. With the bye week set to be complete, we're predicting the final nine games of the season. At the midway point of the 2025 NFL season, the Eagles (6-2) are currently the 2nd seed and behind the Packers, with their Week 10 matchup looming, and first in the NFC East.
The Eagles acquired cornerback Michael Carter II in a trade with the Jets ahead of next week's NFL trade deadline.
Last week, the Eagles added Carter and a 2027 seventh-rounder in exchange for wide receiver John Metchie III and a 2027 sixth-rounder. The Eagles sent a 2026 sixth-rounder to the Ravens for Alexander and a 2027 seventh-rounder over the weekend.
