NEW YORK -- The woman killed when she was set on fire in a Brooklyn subway car has been identified by police, after using fingerprint and dental information and DNA evidence. On Tuesday, NYPD officers identified her as 57-year-old Debrina Kawam, originally from Toms River.

Debrina Kawam has been identified as the victim of a horrifying attack that unfolded in a New York City subway when she was burned alive.

The Toms River woman was set ablaze by a man while while she was sleeping aboard a train at the Coney Island station, police said.
