There's a lot going on in the Denver sky on Tuesday, including thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and three celestial phenomena heading into the nighttime.

Denver faces possible severe weather today with strong winds and thunderstorms, but sunny skies are expected by Wednesday.

Thunderstorms roll in just before nighttime, but Denver should be able to see the moon, which will look particularly unique on Tuesday night.

Damaging winds are possible along the Front Range including Denver and eastern Colorado plains communities where the potential for severe storms Tuesday afternoon has increased. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder upgraded Denver to a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for strong-to-severe storms this afternoon with northeast Colorado communities now under an enhanced risk of high wind gusts.

It will be a warm and stormy Tuesday afternoon. We'll see high temperatures in the low- to mid-80s right before thunderstorms and showers develop and roll east over the plains.
