Tulsi Gabbard told lawmakers that Islamabad’s ongoing missile programme could include intercontinental-range systems able to strike the US homeland.
"Pakistan's long-range ballistic missile development potentially could include ICBMs with a range capable of striking the homeland. The IC assesses that Iran has previously demonstrated space launch and other technology it could use to begin to develop a militarily viable ICBM before 2035 should Tehran attempt to pursue that capability," she said.
The intelligence community projects that the collective missile threat to the US could expand from the current 3,000+ missiles to more than 16,000 by 2035.
Gabbar stated that countries like Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and Pakistan are advancing a range of missile systems that could reach the American homeland.
