President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner arrived in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv on Sunday.
Steve Witkoff, President Trump’s special envoy, and Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, plan to visit Kyiv next, in an effort to revive peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Putin’s foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov gave a readout of the call to the press afterward, claiming Trump said he wanted the war to end as quickly as possible and hoped for a breakthrough before he left the White House in January 2029.
Putin opened the talks by calling the situation the sides have to resolve “not a simple one” and asked the US envoys to pass on his best wishes to Trump. | World News
