The largest of the blazes, the Palisades Fire, is more than 37 square miles. That’s more than half the land size of Washington, D.C. A second fire, the Eaton Fire, is now more than 22 square miles. The Palisades Fire threatens thousands of structures inside the fire’s perimeter.

Mandatory evacuation orders are still in place. As of 11 a.m. local time Monday, all areas under evacuation orders and warnings are placed on a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. local time, according to Cal Fire.

More than 20 people have died across the Los Angeles area. Officials have said the true death toll isn't known as the fires continue to burn.
