Despite LeBron James picking up his $52.6 million player option to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers for next season, there's never been more speculation surrounding his status with the team. That's in part because no new contract was negotiated this summer to keep him there past this upcoming season,

When the new campaign starts, James will be suiting up for his 23rd NBA season, which will be a new league record. NBA insider Marc Stein feels that the 40-year-old playing not just past this season but for two more seasons afterward is a "legit possibility" that could come to pass (h/t Lakers Daily ).

On Sunday, the Lakers forward was apparently tuned in to LIV Golf UK, which was won by Chile’s Joaquin Niemann. While it was a historic outing for Niemann — who became the first player to win five times in a season in the aforementioned golf tour — it was Bubba Watson who caught the attention of James.
