Sixty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. moved his family to a run-down apartment on Chicago’s West Side, ultimately paving the way for the Fair Housing Act of 1968.

The Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission kicked off King Week as it celebrates Dr. King’s legacy ahead of Monday's holiday.

The theme for this year’s event is “A time for vigorous and positive action.”
