Nintendo officially unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2 and in the trailer it appears a new Mario Kart will be launching alongside with support for 24 players.

The new Mario Kart game will be the first mainline release in the series since Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U in 2014. Given that it was the only game featured in the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer, one can safely assume – for now – that it will be a launch title for the console.
