Dubai-based Emirates Airline has resumed its daily passenger service to Lagos, Nigeria, after a two-year suspension. The first flight since 2022 landed at Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) on October 1.

The first Dubai-Lagos flight was conducted on October 1, 2024, following a two-year suspension. Emirates halted it flights to Nigeria on October 29, 2022, due to trapped funds and the government’s inability to provide dollars for foreign carriers to take as their profits.

Nigeria to the world… Emirates flights have now resumed to Lagos, Nigeria as of October 1, 2024. The flights will be operated using the Boeing 777 and the flights will be daily. Passengers will be able to take off daily from Dubai at 9.

The resumption of service comes two years after Emirates had suspended all flights to the country over $85 million of blocked revenues.

On October 1, 2024, Emirates flight EK783 departed Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 10:22 and, after a 7:58-hour flight, landed in Nigeria at Lagos Murtala Mohammed Airport (LOS) at 15:20. The service was flown by a 2007 Boeing 777-300ER, registration A6-ECA and MSN 32794.

Emirates, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) flag carrier, has resumed flight operations to Nigeria. The development comes almost two years after the suspension of operation by the airline. On Tuesday afternoon, the airline’s flight landed at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.

The EK783 departs Dubai at 0945hrs, arriving in Lagos at 1520hrs; the return flight EK784 takes off from Lagos at 1730hrs and lands in Dubai at 0510hrs the following day. Emirates has resumed passenger services to Lagos, Nigeria, with a daily service.
