The chief refereeing officer of the Premier League, Howard Webb, has said Anthony Taylor was right to award a penalty against Arsenal defender, William Saliba in their 1-1 draw at Brighton last Saturday.

Joao Pedro won and converted a penalty after William Saliba made contact with the forwards head as they contested a high ball; the Arsenal defender made a slight touch with the ball before clashing with Pedro;

Arsenal have drawn away at Brighton, therefore missing the chance to close the gap at the top of the Premier League table to three points. Ethan Nwaneri marked his second Premier League start with a goal after 16 minutes, but Joao Pedro’s rather controversial second half penalty means the Gunners had to settle for a share of the points.
