A shooting near the Chicago Theater in the city's Loop neighborhood Friday evening prompted a heavy police response in the area. Around 10:20 p.m. Friday, Chicago police said they were responding to a shooting near State and Lake Streets, authorities said.

As many as five people were shot just outside the Chicago Theater in the Loop late Friday night, according to Chicago police.

The woman, 26, was left in critical condition after the 9:25 p.m. attack in the 100 block of West Lake Street, Chicago police said.
