Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz touted Minnesota throughout the VP debate, mentioning the state's name dozens of times.

Walz’s son Gus, who at the time was 16 and attending St. Paul Central High School, was at the community center across the street from the school when an employee shot a teen in the head.

However, two flash polls showed the Republican challenger Vance winning by a slim margin in the vice-presidential debate.
