Israel's military says two soldiers have been killed in a shooting attack in the occupied West Bank, as its forces continue a major operation against Palestinian armed groups in the north of the territory.

Israel’s military said this week that its campaign targeting militants, which local Palestinians have called one of the most destructive in recent memory, was moving eastward.

At least six people were injured in a shooting attack at a checkpoint in the Israeli-occupied West Bank early Tuesday morning, according to the Israeli military and area hospitals.
