Petr Mrázek got his wish to be traded — even if he didn’t outright express it. The Chicago Blackhawks sent the goaltender and forward Craig Smith to the Detroit Red Wings on Friday and acquired forward Joe Veleno.

Donato had generated lots of trade interest all week, but now the Hawks will likely try to work out a new contract for their leading goal-scorer.

The NHL’s trade deadline has come and gone, and Kyle Davidson did pretty well for himself. He may not have been as active as some wanted him to be, but he accomplished some rather difficult tasks without having to give up much.
