Nico Hischier had a goal and two assists and Jacob Markstrom made 12 saves for his second shutout of the season as the New Jersey Devils beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0.

NEWARK—The New Jersey Devils are in a groove. In the month of December, they’re 6-2-1, and although they’re not a perfect team, they’re certainly proving to be among the NHLs best.

It was a tight checking, high intensity affair, with offense for both teams hard to come by.
