Illinois (11-3, 3-1 Big Ten) managed to hold off Washington (10-5, 1-3) by a score of 81-77 on Sunday in Seattle, but it only just survived a fierce comeback as the surging Huskies simply ran out of clock to work with.

Illinois could do no wrong Thursday at Oregon. Sunday at Washington? Far fewer shots fell. Far more turnovers were given away. And the Illini still managed to leave Seattle with an 81-77 victory against the Huskies despite what was once a 17-point lead in the first half turning into a tie game with less than 1 minute to play.

DJ Davis scored a career-high 31 points and the UW men had a shot at the end but couldn't complete the upset against No. 22 Illinois, falling 81-77.

It was a stunning turnaround made possible by an ill-timed gaffe by the Illini, when miscommunication between swingman Tre White and guard Kasparas Jakucionis sent a simple inbounds pass into the backcourt, where Washington's Luis Kortright scooped it up and layed it in to tie the game at 75.
