Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt announced he's launching his state's own Division of Government Efficiency, a reference to the Musk-backed Department of Government Efficiency that has stoked controversy in Washington as it has clashed with executive agencies.

Trump has long proposed raising tariffs—or taxes on imported goods that the businesses importing them pay the U.S. government—before the election, and said in November he’ll impose a 25% tariff rate on all imports from Mexico and Canada on the first day of his presidency and will impose an additional 10% tariff rate on all imports from China on top of other tariffs.

President Trump granted Mexico and Canada a 30-day reprieve on U.S. tariffs after both nations agreed to intensify efforts to block illicit drugs and migrants.
