Jacob Elordi is reportedly in early negotiations to replace Paul Mescal as the lead of Ridley Scott ’s new thriller, The Dog Stars. The forthcoming movie will be based on Peter Heller’s 2016 post-apocalyptic novel of the same name about a deadly virus that ravages the world, wiping out nearly the entirety of humanity.

Jacob Elordi is reported to be replacing Paul Mescal in The Dog Stars. According to Variety, the Saltburn and Euphoria actor is set to star in the dystopian thriller directed by Ridley Scott for 20th Century Studios.

Paul Mescal was reportedly set to star in the director’s next project The Dog Stars, but now it looks like he’s being replaced by Jacob Elordi. It’s being said that Paul Mescal has scheduling conflicts and couldn’t commit to the role.

The Dog Stars is billed as a post-apocalyptic thriller about a catastrophic flu virus that wipes out nearly all of humanity.

Scott said last month that Mescal would likely drop out of the 20th Century Studios film due to his busy schedule with Sony's Beatles project.
