Hall of Fame weekend is underway in Cooperstown and the big event will be the official induction of Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, Billy Wagner, Dave Parker and Dick Allen in a ceremony on Sunday.  A funny thing in reflecting on this class is there's excellent diversity.

As of Ichiro’s speech, the writer who left him off the ballot, keeping him from becoming the second unanimous first ballot Hall of Famer, has remained anonymous. Mariano Rivera received a perfect 425 of 425 votes for his initial Hall of Fame bid in 2019.

Just this past month, the Rangers broke out their red hats for the first time this year vs. the Mariners. The red hats were the club’s only hats for its first three playoff seasons and a regular part of the rotation in the 2010-11 World Series runs.

It was an emotional day for the friends and family members of this year’s Clinton & Centre County Baseball Hall of Fame inductees. This year’s emcee, Dave Peters, welcomed everyone to the event and expressed his gratitude at being given the opportunity to speak.

Last week, former Arizona Wildcat Terry Francona managed the 2,000th victory of his major-league career. It's automatic Hall of Fame territory.
