Victor Martinez-Hernandez was sentenced Monday to life without parole after hearing directly from her family in open court.

Before the sentencing, Morin’s mother, Patty Morin, told Fox News that she was advised by the court not to speak directly to the defendant when giving her statement, adding that in the last two weeks, she’s written close to nine drafts of her statement.

The man convicted in the 2023 killing of Rachel Morin was sentenced Monday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
