Alien: Romulus' director Fede Álvarez has expressed plans to take the long-running franchise into "uncharted waters" with its sequel.

Alien: Romulus hit theaters on Aug. 14, 2024, in the United States and ended up taking in $105,313,091 at the domestic box office. According to Box Office Mojo, that figure puts it as the second-highest-grossing movie in the Alien franchise.
