US President Donald Trump said Washington will "take a pass" on helping Russia and Ukraine achieve a peace deal if one of the two parties "makes it very difficult".

Russia claims to have seized the border village of Oleshnya, pushing Ukrainian forces from one of their last footholds in the Kursk region, according to Russia's Defense Ministry.
