Tennessee basketball and Michigan were in talks to finalize an exhibition in mid-October, but the plans did not materialize into a game.

Outfielder Drew Gilbert and pitcher Blade Tidwell were drafted in the 2022 MLB Draft out of Tennessee. The Mets traded both to the Giants on July 30.
