Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Ajax defender Jorrel Hato in a deal worth £37million, plus add-ons. He has signed a seven-year deal, and joins as the Blues’ fourth signing of the summer. He follows Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens in moving to west London in this window.

RB Leipzig have asked Chelsea about the possibility of including Tyrique George in a deal for Xavi Simons, according to reports. Chelsea’s hierarchy have set their sights on signing Simons having already brought in Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr across a busy transfer window.
