NASCAR icon Dale Earnhardt Jr. and JR Motorsports are set to make their highly anticipated Daytona 500 debut with Justin Allgaier behind the wheel of the No. 40 car, sponsored by Grammy-winner Chris Stapleton’s Traveller Whiskey brand.

Justin Allgaier will attempt to qualify for the 2025 Daytona 500 driving the No. 40 Chevrolet Camaro owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Greg Ives — Earnhardt Jr.'s crew chief in the Cup Series from 2015 to 2017 — will serve as the crew chief for the team.

JR Motorsports announced Jan. 15 it will field a Cup entry for February's Daytona 500, with 2024 Xfinity champion Justin Allgaier as pilot.

JR Motorsports will field a No.40 Traveller Whiskey Chevrolet at the Daytona 500 after partnering with Buffalo Trace Distillery and musician Christ Stapleton.
