PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – Former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Bob Veale has died at the age of 89. The team confirmed his death in a release on Tuesday. Veale played in Pittsburgh from 1962-72. He appeared in 341 games with the Pirates, posting a record of 116-91 with a 3.06 ERA and 1,652 strikeouts.

An affiliate of the Major League Baseball Players Association has withdrawn its lawsuit against the parent company of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the convenience store chain Sheetz Inc. that alleged unlicensed use of players’ names and images on social media.
