Virginia man convicted for hatchet assault on girlfriend in Shenandoah National Park

A federal jury in Harrisonburg convicted a Springfield man Thursday for assaulting his then-girlfriend with a hatchet in Shenandoah National Park, according to a U.S. Department of Justice release.
