Reaction has been pouring in to the newly struck EU-US trade deal, with the EU facing growing criticism over a compromise many see as a strategic misstep under pressure from Washington.

The United States and the European Union agreed on a framework trade deal to end months of uncertainty for industries and consumers.

The pact would set duties of 15 percent on imports of items such as wine and automobiles, or about half the 30 percent the president had recently threatened.
