Arizona firefighters join California's battle as wildfires prompt mass evacuations
PHOENIX — Fast-moving wildfires fueled by winds have forced countless Los Angeles residents to evacuate over the past few days. Firefighters from Arizona joined the hundreds of firefighters working to contain the California fires. Around 80 firefighters from Arizona were sent to the state as the fires continue to burn.
The Horton Fire has grown to 3,800 acres with 55% containment as of Friday afternoon. Two winter storm systems hit this week, bringing winds of over 40 miles per hour.
