A corrections officer died after an assault by an inmate in an Ohio prison on Christmas morning, authorities say.

Andrew Lansing, a corrections officer at a prison in Chillicothe, Ohio, was killed Christmas Day in what state officials say was an "inmate assault."

Ross Correctional Institution Officer Andrew Lansing was known as a great guy to his family and a fair and firm guard to inmates, his brother said.
