Ex-Detroit Tigers left-handed pitcher Andrew Chafin is on the move just ahead of the MLB trade deadline. The 35-year-old was dealt from the Washington Nationals alongside fellow reliever Luis García to the Los Angeles Angels for lefty Jake Eder and minor-league first baseman Sam Brown.

In the most recent pick-up, the Tigers acquired Washington Nationals closer Kyle Finnegan, a Detroit native. According to published reports Detroit sent pitching prospects Josh Randall and RJ Sales Thursday. Finnegan has 20 saves in 26 chances, is 1-4 with a 4.38 ERA, as the latest boost to the bullpen.

The Nationals made only two more deals before this evening's trade deadline passed, sending Kyle Finnegan to the Tigers and Alex Call to the Dodgers, ultimately choosing to retain two veterans on expiring contracts and a host of players under club control headlined by MacKenzie Gore.
