JACKSON COUNTY, MI — The Jackson County Board of Commissioners approved a lease agreement allowing Grow Jackson to establish a farmers market on the historic grounds of Michigan’s first state prison.

A new business is expected to open in 2027 after major renovation to an historic building on the west side of Downtown Jackson.

JACKSON COUNTY, MI – Northbound U.S. 127 between Jackson and Clark Lake is closed due to a crash. The crash was reported at 1:05 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, o the highway at Cook Road in Liberty Township, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
