The winter storm halted travel for thousands of passengers Monday as airlines canceled and delayed flights. Several flights in and out of KC were affected.

The Chiefs are set to face the Broncos in Denver, but they can’t get out of Kansas City because of the weather.

A winter storm is set to have a major impact on the Philadelphia area and Delaware Valley Monday, with 3-5 inches of snow​ expected in the city and surrounding counties.

“Due to rapid ice accumulation, the airfield at Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is currently closed to flight operations,” the airport said on X. Kansas City City Manager Brian Platt posted on X saying the runways are expected to reopen to normal operations Saturday evening.

Blizzard-like conditions forced a wide swath of flight cancellations at Kansas City International Airport Sunday. The website FlightAware had recorded 252 cancellations as of 11 a.m. The National Weather Service reported heavy, blowing snow and breezy conditions, as well as visibility of a quarter-mile at the airport Sunday around 9 a.m.

Most immediate flights in and out of Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky International Airport were canceled on Sunday evening as winter storm Blair rips through the Cincinnati region.

A powerful winter storm is wreaking havoc across much of the country. Those troubles are extending into eastern Iowa with flight cancellations and delays. There have been two flights canceled out of the Cedar Rapids airport Monday morning.
