A 28-year-old Long Beach man was arrested Friday and accused of sending monetary support to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), a U.S. designated terrorist group, authorities announced.

A Long Beach man was arrested for allegedly providing financial support to those claiming to be members of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the Justice Department said Friday.

Authorities say a Long Beach man accused of sending money to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria — commonly known as ISIS — and saying he wanted to “die for our faith” was arrested today on federal charges after the FBI recovered what appeared to be a bomb in his bedroom.
