Canada’s highest court will decide whether a law that Quebec enacted in 2019, barring public-sector workers from wearing religious symbols, violates their rights.

The Supreme Court of Canada is set to announce Thursday morning whether it will hear a challenge of Quebec's controversial secularism law, known as Bill 21.

Quebec’s secularism law, known as Bill 21, was challenged in court as soon as it was adopted more than five years ago. With the Supreme Court of Canada announcing Thursday it will hear arguments on the validity of the law,
