May 13, 2018 · The Nomad hit retail in late 1995, with a wide release in 1996. The biggest difference was that the Mega Jet didn't have a screen (likely due to the cost involved at the time). The Mega Jet is Nomad (in a different, more streamlined shell), sans screen. More accurately, the Nomad is a Mega Jet in a boxy, blocky shell, with the addition of a screen.
