When I was indicating the new 6 jaw chuck true I was not getting repeatability using this Thompson ground shaft. I knew the chuck should repeat within the specs TMX gives so I removed the shaft to inspect. Using my @starrett_tools granite surface plate, No. 566 V-Block, inspection gage holder & No.25-131 dial indicator, I checked the shaft for straightness. The v-block was pushed along a straight edge with the shaft fixed in place to verify that my suspicion was correct. We have a bent shaft. I
