✴️Diffuse Esophageal Spasm (DES) corkscrew esophagus- It is an esophageal motility disorder. 📍C/F- Characterized by uncoordinated esophageal contractions impairing bolus transit & presents with dysphagia & noncardiac chest pain. ✓Dx- Barium swallow (corkscrew appearance) & manometry. 📍T/t- Calcium channel blockers, nitrates, PPIs & in refractory cases- botulinum toxinsurgical myotomy. • Symptoms may fluctuate but prognosis is generallly good with treatment. | إستشاري امراض الباطنة والكبد د محم
