Today we celebrate Saint Joachim and Saint Anne, parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Also, according to the Protevangelium of James, they lived close to the Temple of Jerusalem, where Our Lady was born. This place is venerated at the Church of Saint Anne. The Crusaders considered Sepphoris (not far from Nazareth) the homeland of Saint Anne.
