Stuttgart is the capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg and one of Germany’s major industrial hubs. The city was first mentioned in 950 AD as Stutengarten — meaning “mare’s garden.” Today, it is known as the birthplace of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, both of which have museums you can visit.
